Chat Compose with AI leverages AI technology, which may include third-party models, to help you write Chat messages by using context from your conversation. You’ll maintain the ability to change messages by adding tone, inputting prompts, or changing the length of the message to give you confidence in what you’re communicating.

How to reply to a message using Chat Compose with AI

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
  2. Click the Chat tab .
  3. Click the ellipsis icon next to the message you want to respond to.
    Additional options for the message will appear.
  4. Click  Reply with AI .
    A window will open to generate a response. The message you are responding to will be the basis for the generated reply.
  5. (Optional) In the What do you want to say box, provide a draft of your response or enter a command for AI. This gives additional context and a sample of your writing style for AI to mimic in the generated reply. This can be up to 1,000 characters.
  6. (Optional) Click Retry to generate a new response if the current one is not satisfactory.
  7. (Optional) Click Refine to reconfigure the response and choose from the following options: Improve writing, Make Longer, Make Shorter, Change Tone to, or Translate to.
    Add or adjust your drafted response to better guide the rephrased result.
  8. Click Insert or Replace when satisfied with the generated response:
    Insert: Copies the generated response into the reply compose box without overwriting any existing draft.
    Replace: Copies the generated response into the reply compose box and overwrites the current draft.
  9. Click Discard if you choose not to send the generated reply.

How to create a message using Chat Compose with AI

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
  2. Click the Chat tab .
  3. Click plus icon below the text compose box, then click Compose with AI .
    A window will open to generate a message.
  4. In the What do you want to say box, provide a draft of your message or enter a command for AI. This gives additional context and a sample of your writing style for Zoom AI to mimic in the generated reply. This can be up to 1,000 characters.
  5. Click the send icon .
    Your generated response will appear. Note: You'll also see a reminder about the accuracy of AI-generated content when generating a new chat message.
  6. (Optional) Click Retry to generate a new response if the current one is not satisfactory.
  7. (Optional) Click Refine to reconfigure the response and choose from the following options: Improve writing, Make Longer, Make Shorter, or Change Tone to, Translate to.
    Add or adjust your drafted response to better guide and influence the rephrased response.
  8. Click Insert or Replace when you are satisfied with the generated response.
    Insert: Copies the generated response into the reply compose box without changing any previous drafts you have created. 
    Replace: Copies the generated response into the reply compose box and overwrites the current draft.
  9. Click Discard if you choose not to send the generated reply.
