Testing your video You can manually test your video camera with Zoom before joining a meeting—or during a meeting—to ensure that the camera is working properly. You can also start a test Zoom meeting to familiarize yourself with the meeting controls and test your audio and video.

Test your video before a meeting
Sign in to the Zoom desktop app. Click your profile picture, then click Settings . Click the Video & effects tab . You will see a preview video from the camera that is currently selected. You can choose a different camera if another one is available. Below the video preview, you can make adjustments to your camera and video settings. Test your video while in a meeting
Start or join a meeting.In the meeting controls toolbar, next to the Video icon, click the up arrow icon . Click Video settings . This will open your video settings and you can change your camera. Below the video preview, you can make adjustments to your camera and video settings. Learn more about enhancing your video with lighting, virtual backgrounds, filters, and more. If you don't see your camera's video, under Camera , click the drop-down menu and select another camera.

With the Zoom mobile app, you can start an instant meeting to test your video.
Sign in to the Zoom mobile app. Tap the Meetings tab . Start or join a meeting. Tap the Video On toggle to enable it. If this is your first time joining a Zoom meeting from this device, you will be asked to allow Zoom permission to access the camera and microphone. In the meeting controls toolbar, tap the More icon . Tap Background & effects to set a virtual background , create an avatar , or set a video filter .
