This setting is configured at the account level and applies to all groups. This setting does not apply to account owners/admins, who may edit/delete messages in the Chat History Report in the admin portal. New or enhanced feature	Restrict file downloads on desktop and mobile apps	Users will be restricted from downloading files to their desktop and mobile apps if an admin enables the block file downloads setting. However, they can still view certain supported file types, like PDFs and images, within the desktop/mobile app. This setting applies to Team Chat and continuous meeting chat communications, helping protect data by limiting file downloads to personal devices. The feature requires admin configuration and applies only to supported file types. Note: A new setting, "Downloading Files," will be added and enabled ON by default. When a recording or summary is ready but hasn't been shared, CMC members will see a banner stating that the host has not yet released the summary and/or recording. The host will have the ability to share the recording and/or summary with all CMC members from the host's view of the post-meeting card. Once the host shares the recording and/or summary, the banner will automatically disappear for all CMC members. Admins can specify whether users start at the first or latest unread message, control message count displays, and set notification parameters. When enabled, this security feature prevents URLs from becoming clickable links in all chat types, including direct messages, group chats, and channel conversations. Users can still send and view URL text, but the links remain unclickable to prevent accidental clicks. The link formatting option is removed from message compose boxes for internal users, while external users maintain their own hyperlink settings. This feature helps organizations reduce potential security risks from accidental URL clicks. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend release, currently scheduled for March 30, 2025 Note: If admins disable links, only users on version 5.17.5 and above will have them disabled. The dropdown will now display any named group chats, channels, or continuous meeting chats with the same users, making it easy to find the right conversation. Older unnamed group chats won't be shown, reducing duplicates and simplifying the continuation of existing conversations, though they can still be found using Search. Users can also send a message directly to a channel, continuous meeting chat, or named group chat by typing its name in the "To" field when creating a new message. When users switch from Zoom to other applications, the pop-up windows automatically move beneath the active third-party application window. This behavior applies to Team Chat pop-ups, calendar windows, and home page scheduler, with the exception of Zoom Clips during active recording. This enhancement prevents unwanted obstruction of content in other applications while maintaining necessary visibility during screen recording.	macOS

Users can play voicemails, view transcripts, and manage notifications from a single interface. Red badge notifications automatically sync between Zoom Phone and Team Chat to prevent duplicate notifications.   Improved visual labeling will make it easier for users to identify channels and group chats that include external participants. These chats and channels will display an "external" tag at the top of the chat window, and the visual indicator in the compose box will be more prominent.
- Streamline user experience with admin authorized apps in Team Chat - Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android
  Users can view and interact with admin authorized chat apps without being prompted for permissions. Users can see and click on shortcuts, enter slash commands, or open bot channels for these apps, the app onboarding flow is triggered automatically. After the admin authorized the app, users don't have to review permissions requested by the app again.

  Team Chat users can now pin existing or create new Zoom Docs directly within a channel tab. Once pinned, the doc is accessible to all channel members and can be viewed in split view mode alongside the chat. Pinning a doc follows the same user permissions as adding channel tabs. This feature enhances productivity by enabling teams to seamlessly reference and work on documents together within their chat conversations.
- Ability to hyperlink URLs in compose box - Windows, macOS,
  Users can now hyperlink URLs seamlessly while composing messages in Team Chat. Pasted and typed URLs are automatically hyperlinked in the compose box, eliminating the need to manually format links after sending the message. Additionally, users have the option to customize the hyperlinked text through the hyperlink modal, which pre-populates the "text to display" field with the original URL for convenience. This enhancement enhances the messaging experience by simplifying link sharing and formatting.
Zoom web portal features
- External user approval for Shared Spaces
  The two approval settings Require admin approval for adding external users to group chats and channels and Require admin approval for joining external group chats and channels will now include requests for adding/joining Shared Spaces. If these settings are enabled, approval requests are generated when an external user is added to a shared space or when a user is invited to join a Shared Space. However, approval requests are not generated for the general channel or any synced channels within a Shared Space, as members are automatically added to these channels. This feature enhances control over external collaborations in Shared Spaces.

  Users can send or forward emails directly to designated channels and chats by tying an email address to them. Admins can enable or disable this feature at the account and group level, and control accepted email domains. Once enabled, users can create unique email addresses for channels and chats, and anyone with the address can send emails to that channel or chat. This streamlines the process of sharing email information across teams.
- Enhancements to Sentence Completion space bar checkbox - Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android
  Users can access a checkbox in the user-level settings of Zoom Team Chat to enable or disable the functionality of using the space bar to accept Sentence Completion suggestions. The checkbox is visible only if the AI Companion feature is unlocked and enabled. When enabled, the space bar will automatically accept Sentence Completion suggestions. Disabling the checkbox will prevent the space bar from accepting suggestions, allowing users to type without unintended word completions. This setting takes effect immediately, without requiring a restart or re-login, giving users greater flexibility in managing their Sentence Completion experience. Note: The default setting for the space bar should be off for users who enable this feature after the release of this setting.

  Team Chat users can pin Zoom Notes to channel tabs for quick reference. Users with the required permissions can select an existing Note or create a new one to pin to the channel tab. Once pinned, the Note is visible to all channel members. Pinned Notes support split view functionality like whiteboards and channel tabs. This feature centralizes collaboration assets within Team Chat, reducing the need to switch between multiple tools.
Zoom web portal features
- User-level settings for Team Chat AI Companion features
  Users can enable or disable Team Chat AI Companion features, such as thread summary, chat compose, quick reply, sentence completion, and quick schedule, through user-level settings in the web portal. By default, these AI Companion features are enabled for users when the admin enables them for the account. Users can toggle the settings without restarting or re-logging in to the Zoom Workplace app. If an AI Companion feature is unlocked but disabled, the user-level setting is hidden. If an AI Companion feature is unlocked and enabled, the user-level setting is visible and enabled by default until the user disables it. This allows users to customize their Team Chat experience based on their preferences.
- Enhancements to external user dashboard
  The External Connections dashboard in the admin portal (ADMIN > Team Chat Management > External Connections) has been updated to not only show external users in my account, but also to show my users in externally-owned account. This provides admins with better visibility into all external collaborations. Additionally, all approval requests have been combined into one tab to make admin approvals easier.

  The draft limit in Team Chat has been increased from 100 to 300. To accommodate this change, the Drafts tab has been renamed to Drafts and Sent for all users. As users approach the new 300 draft limit, a warning message will appear, encouraging them to clear up storage in the Drafts and Sent section to continue saving new drafts. This enhancement offers users greater flexibility in managing their draft messages and sent items within the integrated messaging platform.

  Users can now scan QR codes more conveniently on their mobile devices. The mobile client features an added QR code shortcut for quick access to scanning. Users can even scan QR codes from images stored in their mobile gallery. These enhancements provide a seamless and efficient QR code scanning experience on mobile devices.

  Custom emoji sorting has been improved based on emojis added by the user and the most popular emojis. Additionally, hovering over a reaction or emoji will display its name and a larger view of the emoji, enhancing discoverability. Users can also copy and paste custom emojis within Team Chat, facilitating seamless communication.
- Improved message editing capabilities for adding images, files, and text - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
  Users can edit any message, including those containing only images or files, and add or modify the text content. They can also add images or files to messages that were initially sent without attachments. This feature allows users to enhance their communications by providing additional context or supplementary information after the initial message has been sent, streamlining the messaging experience.
- Increase compose box size on the Zoom mobile app - Android, iOS
  Users can expand the compose box on the Zoom mobile app by dragging it upwards, allowing for easier composition and viewing of longer messages. The expanded compose box remains fixed in the dragged position until minimized. When minimized, the text truncates with an ellipsis. The cursor position is maintained at the end of the text during expansion. This feature improves the user experience when composing messages on the mobile app.
- Simplified one-to-one chat invitations with external users - Windows, macOS, Android, iOS
  Users can initiate a 1:1 chat with an external user by entering their email address. The system will prompt the user that this is a contact request and will be sent as an email invitation as well as an in-client notification. Invitees can accept or decline the invitation from the client after signing in or signing up. If accepted, a 1:1 chat is created with the inviter's message populated. This provides a clear and safe way to invite and communicate with external users in a 1:1 chat. The invitation will expire after 30 days. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend release, currently scheduled for June 20, 2024.
- Expanded GIPHY search and display capabilities in Zoom Team Chat - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
  Users can now view up to 30 GIF search results from GIPHY within the Zoom Team Chat app. The search results load incrementally as the user types their query, providing a more dynamic and responsive experience.
- Enhancements to forward message feature - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
  The message forwarding experience in Zoom Team Chat has been improved. Share message will be replaced with Forward message in multiple locations:
  - Within the More menu associated with the message bubble
  - In the title of the share/forward pop-up modal
  - On the call-to-action button within the modal
  Additionally, to ensure consistency across mobile and desktop versions, two buttons, Share separately and Create group chat, will be included in the share modal on desktop. Previously, these buttons were only accessible on mobile devices. This modification is intended to harmonize the functionality between the desktop and mobile versions of the feature.
Zoom web portal features
- More granularity for Enable Team Chat setting
  There will be more granularity for admin control of the Enable Team Chat setting. Previously, admins were able to specify certain domains or users, but not both. With this update, admins may specify both domains and users.
- Enhancements to group level admin settings for read receipts
  Account owners and admins can now configure read receipt settings for individual group chats. They can enable or disable the ability for group members to see when their messages have been read by others. This feature provides greater flexibility and control over read receipts, allowing admins to tailor the experience based on the specific needs and preferences of each group chat.
- Allow account owners and admins to manage channels type at the account level
  Account owners and admins can control what type of channels (public or private) can be created at the account level. Previously, this setting was only available at the group level. Admins can enable or disable the ability for users to create public or private channels. This provides account-level control over channel type.
- Prevent members from leaving default channels in Zoom Team Chat
  Account owners and admins can restrict members from voluntarily leaving default channels in Zoom Team Chat. This feature is available in the admin portal and can be applied to selected or all default channels. If a channel is no longer default, members regain the ability to leave. Error handling is in place for issues applying or saving the setting. Appropriate notifications and user interface elements inform members and admins about the channel status and restrictions. This feature enhances communication reliability and prevents information silos within the organization.
- Granular control over chat modernization settings
  The meeting setting New meeting chat experience will be deprecated, but all nested settings will remain and have their own toggles. Upon release, all settings will be configured as they are today, so there will be no change in current behavior. Additionally, we will introduce a new setting, Allow participants to edit messages in meeting chat.
- Suppress system notifications for user additions or removals via synced user groups
  Account owners and admins can now suppress system notifications that are generated when users are added or removed from channels through synced user groups. This new setting in the admin web portal enables them to toggle on or off the display of these specific notifications, providing greater control over confidentiality and discretion. By giving admins the ability to manage these notifications, this feature enhances privacy and professionalism, minimizing potential speculation or discomfort among channel members caused by unexpected system messages.

  To enhance the user experience, real-time notifications will alert users when they reach the character limit while composing a message in Team Chat, continuous meeting chat, and in-meeting chat. This will ensure that users are aware of the limit before attempting to send the message. Additionally, the real-time display of the character count deficit will enable users to promptly edit their message and adhere to the character limit.
- Consistent unfurling support across In-Meeting chat and Team Chat - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, Android (Intune), iOS (Intune)
  The functionality of content unfurling in the In-Meeting chat feature will now match that of Team Chat. This allows users to preview links shared in continuous meeting chat before opening them.
Zoom web portal features
- More external collaboration settings and dashboard
  Team Chat now offers new external collaboration settings and a new dashboard. These admin tools include:
  - Approval flow settings: Account owners/admins can now review and approve/deny all requests for 1) adding external users to group chats and channels and 2) allowing their members to join externally-owned group chats/channels. These requests can be sent directly to account admins or can be managed from a new Approvals dashboard in the admin portal.
  - Company settings: Account owners/admins can even configure external collaboration settings at the company/account level. This provides admins with more granularity and customization options.
  - External Connections dashboard: Account owner/admins have greater visibility into external users in their account. This new dashboard allows admins to view and manage all external users collaborating through Team Chat.
    If you permit your members to interact with external users, your account admins will be able to view the name of the account to which the external users belong. Your account name will also be visible to the account admins in these external accounts. To update your account name, select ADMIN > Account Management > Account Profile > Account Name and click Edit.
    Note: This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend release, currently scheduled for May 26, 2024.
- Admin portal feature for manual archiving and unarchiving
  Account owners and admins now have the ability to manually archive and unarchive channels directly from the web portal. Upon unarchiving a channel, it will transition out of read-only mode and become accessible to users who were members of the channel before it was archived. Additionally, the channel will reappear in their channel list.

Note: The Support 250,000 members in Announcement channels, More granularity for Enable Team Chat setting and Badge notification enhancements features were pulled from release due to issues with deployment and will be available in an upcoming release.

If the meeting was cloud recorded, the host will see an interactive card in the meeting group chat, visible only to them, prompting them to share the recording with others in the continuous meeting chat. If shared, the posted meeting asset interactive card is updated to include the link to the recording. Other channel members will see Pending host approval until the host decides to share the recording. The same applies to the Meeting Summary with AI Companion if the host has the corresponding setting to share it only with themselves.

  Team Chat public channels support up to 250,000 members, facilitating scalability for larger communities. Certain admin settings have been adjusted to compensate for the increased member count.

  Team Chat now includes tabs for whiteboards and important links, streamlining access to relevant resources. Owners and admins can pin essential resources in channels for easy access by all members. Users can collaborate on shared whiteboards in real-time within the chat interface. Tabs can be renamed, reorganized, or removed as needed. In group chats and direct messages, all members can manage tab content. Additionally, a split view feature enables simultaneous viewing of tab content and the main chat stream, enhancing productivity. The interface has been reorganized for efficiency, with the search function moved to the top of the chat stream and other options consolidated in the More menu. Chat resources are now accessible via the Resources tab, offering a more convenient experience for users.

  - Muted: All muted channels, including read and unread messages, are listed.
- Increase compose box size for macOS app - macOS
  macOS users can adjust the height of the compose box on the Zoom app, allowing easier expansion of the threaded reply box and better visibility of the entire drafted message. This feature was previously only available on the Zoom desktop app for Windows.
- Shared Spaces - Windows, macOS, Android, iOS
  Shared spaces are a collection of channels and members that help organize work around a specific project, team, or topic.
  Admins and users can create Shared Spaces for corporate communication, different business units, or departments. This allows for easier management of membership and ensures better access and usability for users within those spaces. However, on mobile, users can only read and reply in spaces; they cannot create them. This feature enables efficient collaboration and access to discussions and channels associated with important projects. Note: This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend release, currently scheduled for April 22, 2024.

  Channel, group chat, and continuous meeting chat owners can manually archive their unused chat channels, group chats, and continuous meeting chats. When these are archived, they are closed to new activity, but the message history is retained and searchable, allowing members to continue to access messages, files, and other information if needed again in the future. These chats can also be unarchived if the discussion needs to be re-opened. Admins can also set auto-archive policies from the web portal.

  The latest sent message in a 1:1 chat or small group chat or channel (20 members max) can show read receipts of who has read the message so far. Visibility of read receipts can potentially be disabled through the Team Chat section of client settings, if allowed by admins.

  When a user initiates a new chat, the system will automatically populate the most recent group chat with the same membership, effectively reducing redundancy. Users can continue to create a new group chat with the same membership if they would like. Additionally, the enhancement involves removing the current logic for adding a new member to a direct message between two users.
- Enhancements to Team Chat Activity Center - Windows, macOS
  In addition to activity center notifications for 1:1 messages, mentions, reactions, and replies, users can receive notifications for permissions and chat/channel management.
- Enhanced DLP Monitoring: File sent events and file open/download activity tracking in Team Chat and Meeting Chat - Windows, macOS, LInux, Android, iOS
  Users can scan and eliminate files containing sensitive data. In the event of removal, they can also conduct an audit to identify individuals who may have viewed the file before its deletion, ensuring compliance with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) requirements. This functionality is made possible by the recently added Chat APIs and Webhooks.
- Zoom App cards in Team Chat - Windows, macOS
  When a Zoom App Marketplace link is shared in Team Chat, including both meeting chat and continuous meeting chat, a visually appealing card will be displayed. This card will feature essential information about the app, such as the title, thumbnail, a brief description, and a call to action. This enhancement aims to simplify the app installation process and encourage user engagement by providing a clear interface for adding, opening, or requesting the app.
Zoom web portal features
- Customer Managed Key (CMK) support of search data
  For customers using Team Chat with CMK, all chat data stored for Zoom’s search functionality can now be protected with customer’s own keys rather than Zoom's generic key. Previously, only the chat messages were encrypted. Admins must enable search data encryption through the Customer Managed Key admin page in the Zoom web portal. Once enabled, newly generated search data will be encrypted with CMK.
- Add external labeling and filtering in Channels Management on the web portal
  Admins can easily identify channels with external users through the "External Member" label on the Channel Management screen in the Admin portal. This labeling provides instant visibility, making it simple to discern channels that include external members. In addition, admins can efficiently filter the Channel Member list specifically for "External" users on any given Channel page.
- Expand chat history filters
  Account owners and admins will now have the capability to search for up to 5 keywords at a time (when at least one user is specified) OR a specified channel in the Chat History Report within the Admin portal.

This feature must be enabled for accounts by request, and users must update to a minimum version of 5.16.5.

User requests for enabling Team Chat Compose and Thread Summary
Paid users on eligible paid plans (may not be available for select verticals and regional customers) may be able to see the Zoom AI Companion chat compose and thread summary options within the Team Chat UI, even if the account admin has not enabled it. If these options are visible but not enabled, users can request admin enablement. Account admins can control the visibility of these enablement options through web settings. By default, these features will be visible to users in Team Chat.

- Custom emojis - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
  Users can create their own emojis, adding a personal flair to their conversations. All members in the user's organization can see and use these custom emojis in Team Chat conversations and reactions. Admins can view all uploaded emojis, including the uploader’s name and email address, upload date, and emoji name. Admins can also remove any emojis directly from the web portal. By default, custom emojis are enabled and all users can upload their own, but admins can also limit emoji creation through account settings by choosing whether all users in the organization can create emojis or only the admin(s) and specific users can create emojis.

  Scheduled messages improve custom workflows and productivity in Team Chat, giving users the ability to schedule messages for future delivery. Users can also delay sending messages until the recipient’s work hours, showing courtesy and ensuring the message appears at the top of the recipient’s inbox. Previously, users had to choose between waiting to send messages (even if it meant working beyond their usual hours) or potentially disrupting the recipient.

  Drafted messages are conveniently listed and accessible through a new Drafts tab within the Team Chat side panel.
- Consent required for channel and group chat additions Windows, macOS
  Users will be presented with a consent notice before being added to an external channel or group chat. Adding external users to channels and group chats no longer requires contact requests. However, contact request approvals are still needed for one-on-one chats. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend release, currently scheduled for September 24, 2023.
- Team Chat Thread Summary with Zoom AI Companion - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
  Team Chat users can use Zoom AI Companion to help summarize a chat thread and quickly catch up on the discussion without having to read each response in the thread.
- Add timestamp to the lists of existing chats in a dropdown - Windows, macOS
  When a user initiates a new group chat with the same members, the user will see a timestamp indicating the last message sent in each existing chat with identical membership. The timestamp will allow users to easily distinguish between multiple group chats featuring the same members. This way, users can quickly identify which chat is most relevant or contains the information they're looking for. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend release, currently scheduled for October 15, 2023.

  Various improvements to the Team Chat mobile experience are being introduced to maintain parity with the desktop client and enable users to quickly catch up on their prioritized conversations, including one-on-one chats, mentions, channels, and group chats with notifications.
- Keep formatting when copying and pasting text in Team Chat - Android, iOS
  Users can copy text with formatting from external sources, such as documents or web pages, and paste it directly into the Zoom Team Chat while retaining the original formatting. Additionally, formatting will be preserved when copying and pasting text within Team Chat, ensuring that the text appears as intended, whether it’s bold, italicized, in lists, or other formatting styles.

    Account owners and admins have the capability to search for up to 5 specific users at a time in the Chat History Report.
  - Reflect Cloud retention period on Edit Channel and Channel Management screens
    Account owners and admins can determine the Cloud Storage retention period for any given channel at quick glance on the Channel Management screen. Additionally, if channel-specific cloud storage has been set, they have the ability to revert back to the default cloud storage setting directly from the Edit Channel screen. These improvements enhance the Admin experience on the Channel Management and Edit Channel screens, providing better retention period management, increased clarity, and control.

Zoom’s AI-powered features, such as Meeting Summary, Team Chat Compose, and other upcoming features, are rebranded under the Zoom AI Companion name. As part of this rebranding, associated web settings, descriptions, prompts, and other mentions are updated to be aligned with the new name.
AI Companion features ending Free Trial, now generally available
The AI Companion Meeting Summary and Team Chat Compose features are ending their free trial and will now be available for all eligible accounts. All Licensed users on paid accounts will continue to have access to these features at no additional cost.

  - Expanded invitation options: Users will have a variety of options for adding and inviting contacts. This includes the ability to share an invite link through native messaging apps, alongside the existing email method.

Team Chat message retention logic
Cloud storage retention logic is changed to be more simplified and predictable for group chats and channels that include members from different groups or accounts with differing cloud storage retention periods. All group chats and channels will follow the cloud storage retention period of the owner for that group chat or channel. 1:1 chats will continue to use the shortest retention period between the users.

  Users can quickly make phone calls within a one-on-one chat, through the phone call option in the header. Previously, the option to make a phone call was not available through a 1:1 chat.

  The mobile Team Chat experience has been redesigned to enhance its organization and improve usability. The following changes have been made:
  - Vertical toolbar tabs: Mobile users can see vertical toolbar tabs, similar to the desktop version.
  - Customizable toolbar order: Users have the flexibility to customize the order of the toolbar according to their preferences.
  - Message ordering: Messages are now listed in the order of unread to most recent.

  Users with scheduling privileges can change the host of a meeting, and if Continuous Meeting Chat is enabled, the ownership of that associated chat channel will also be transferred to the new host.
- Adding guest participants to dedicated group chat for Continuous Meeting Chat - Windows, macOS
  When the host ends a meeting with Continuous Meeting Chat enabled and guest participants in attendance, the host will be prompted to review the guest attendees and choose if they want them added to the group chat and continue having access to the discussion. By default, guest participants, which are participants not directly invited to the meeting through the calendar event, only have access to the chat discussion while in the meeting.
- Increase max file size for Team Chat (1:1s, Group Chats, Channels) - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
  The maximum file size that Team Chat users can upload and share files with others is increased to 1 GB per file. Account owners and admins who use file transfer controls can allow files of up to 1 GB to be shared in a Team Chat. Previously admins could allow files of up to 512 MB.

  Users can translate messages sent to them in other languages, better facilitating communication between teams in different regions. Zoom will detect the language of the original message and, when prompted, translate the message to the default language used by the Zoom app. Users can also choose other target languages for the message to translate to. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend server update currently scheduled for March 26th.

    - External Contacts and Contact Requests: Users can add external contacts to their group chats and channels, as well as send invite requests when adding a contact to a channel or sending a chat message. Contact requests can be pinned to the left sidebar through PWA settings for easy access.
    - Channel Settings: Additional channel settings available on the desktop and mobile apps have been added to restrict who can add members, as well as support for multiple channel admins.
    - Additional User Settings: Users can choose to show link previews, change your status to away when inactive, and block users through PWA settings. Blocked users cannot be added to a channel or receive a chat message from you.

  Various enhancements have been made to make the personal note feature easier and more impactful to use.
- Consolidated notifications for channel member changes
  When users join, leave, are added by, or removed by another user, the various chat notifications displayed in the chat channel are consolidated down when there are multiple of these notifications in a given day. This provides more visual space for chat messages, while still providing the additional information when needed.

- Set default Team Chat channels for users
  Account owners and admins can set up to 5 default Team Chat channels, which all new and existing users will automatically be added to. The chosen channels must be public channels and users can choose to leave these default channels.
