Using Zoom Events in-app registration and ticket management


Attendees can register for an event and manage their existing tickets from the Zoom Events Companion app. When an attendee tries to join an event they are not registered for on the mobile app (by QR code or join link), the attendee can complete registration within the mobile app.

Note: The attendee cannot browse for events through the Zoom Events Companion app. They must access the event details from the host, scan a QR code, or use the join link. If the host has closed registration, the attendees can no longer register for the event.

How to scan an event's QR code

Use the Zoom mobile app QR scanner

  1. Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
  2. Tap  More .
  3. Under Other, tap Scan QR Code.

Use your phone's camera to scan QR codes

  1. Access your phone's camera.
  2. Use your camera to identify and scan the QR code.
  3. If a confirmation window appears, tap Open.
    You will be directed to the Zoom mobile app.

How to join Zoom Events using the Zoom Event Companion app

Join a Zoom Event as a registered Zoom user

When you're already registered and have a ticket to the Zoom Event, you can scan the QR code to join the event lobby directly.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom mobile app
  2. Scan the Zoom Event's QR code.
    You will be directed to the Zoom Event's mobile event details page on the Zoom mobile app.
  3. On the landing page, tap Join Lobby.
    You will be directed to the event lobby.

Join a Zoom Event as a registered Zoom user who is not signed in

  1. Scan the Zoom Event's QR code.
    You will be directed to the Zoom Event's mobile event join page on the Zoom mobile app.
  2. On the landing page, tap Continue with Zoom Account.
    You will be directed to the event lobby.

Join a Zoom Event as a guest user

  1. Scan the Zoom Event's QR code.
    You will be directed to the Zoom Event's mobile event join page on the Zoom mobile app.
  2. On the landing page, enter your email address, then tap Join with Email.
    You will be directed to the event lobby.

Register for free events after scanning the event QR code

Register for a free Zoom Event as a Zoom user

When you're a Zoom user and do not have a ticket to the Zoom Event, you can register directly on the Zoom mobile app.

  1. Scan the Zoom Event's QR code.
    You will be directed to the Zoom Event's mobile event details page on the Zoom mobile app.
  2. On the landing page, tap Register with Zoom Account.
  3. Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
    You will be directed to the Zoom Events registration flow.
    Note: If you are already signed in to the Zoom mobile app, continue to step 4.
  4. Under Choose Ticket, select the ticket type you want, then tap Continue.
  5. Under Review Order, review the order details.
  6. (Optional) Select the I agree to receive marketing communications from
the Event Host checkbox.
  7. Tap Confirm Registration.
    You will be directed to a confirmation page. On the confirmation page, you can join the event if it's already ongoing or return to the home page.

Register for a free Zoom Event as a guest user

When you do not have a ticket to a Zoom Event and do not have a Zoom account, you can register as a guest user on the Zoom mobile app.

  1. Scan the Zoom Event's QR code.
    You will be directed to the Zoom Event's mobile event details page on the Zoom mobile app.
  2. On the landing page, tap Register with Email.
    Note: You can tap Register with Zoom Account to sign in to your Zoom account.
  3. Enter your email address, then tap Verify Email.
    A verification code will be sent to your email address.
  4. Enter the verification code that was sent to your email address.
    You will be directed to the Zoom Events registration flow.
  5. Under Choose Ticket, select the ticket type you want, then tap Continue.
  6. Under Review Order, review the order details.
  7. (Optional) Select the I agree to receive marketing communications from
the Event Host checkbox.
  8. Tap Confirm Registration.
    You will be directed to a confirmation page. On the confirmation page, you can join the event if it's already ongoing or return to the home page.

Register for paid events after scanning the event QR code

Register for a paid Zoom Event as a Zoom user

  1. Scan the Zoom Event's QR code.
    You will be directed to the Zoom Event's mobile event details page on the Zoom mobile app.
  2. On the landing page, tap Register with Zoom Account.
  3. Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
    You will be directed to the Zoom Events registration flow.
    Note: If you are already signed in to the Zoom mobile app, continue to step 4.
  4. Under Choose Ticket, select the ticket type you want, then tap Continue.
    You will be redirected to the mobile web to complete your purchase. If you’re not redirected, tap Register on web.
  5. On the mobile web browser, review your registrant information and complete the registration questions.
  6. (Optional) Select the I agree to receive marketing communications from
the Event Host checkbox.
  7. Tap Agree and Continue.
  8. On the Confirm and Pay window:
    • Billing Address: Confirm that the Billing Address is correct.
      Note: Your address will appear only if you have already saved your address to your profile.
      • (Optional) Click Edit if you want to edit the address or want to use a different billing address.
        Note: The address listed under Attendee Payments & Billing will be updated with the edited address.
    • Choose your payment method:
    • If you paid using a payment card, click Confirm and Pay.
      A confirmation window will appear.
  9. After completing your payment, you will be directed to a confirmation page. On the confirmation page, you can join the event if it's already ongoing or return to the home page.

Register for a paid Zoom Event as a guest user

Register without creating an account. Once registered, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to join this event. 

  1. Scan the Zoom Event's QR code.
    You will be directed to the Zoom Event's mobile event details page on the Zoom mobile app.
  2. On the landing page, tap Register with Email.
  3. Enter your email address, then tap Verify Email.
    A verification code will be sent to your email address.
  4. Enter the verification code that was sent to your email address.
    You will be directed to the Zoom Events registration flow.
  5. Under Choose Ticket, select the ticket type you want, then tap Continue.
    You will be redirected to the mobile web to complete your purchase. If you’re not redirected, tap Register on web.
  6. On the mobile web browser, enter your registrant information and complete the registration questions.
  7. (Optional) Select the I agree to receive marketing communications from
the Event Host checkbox.
  8. Tap Agree and Continue.
  9. On the Confirm and Pay window:
    • Billing Address: Enter your billing address.
    • Choose your payment method:
    • If you paid using a payment card, click Confirm and Pay.
      A confirmation window will appear.
  10. After completing your payment, you will be directed to a confirmation page. On the confirmation page, you can join the event if it's already ongoing or return to the home page.

Register for another event ticket

Registered attendees (who already hold a ticket to the event) can purchase and register again for a second event ticket on the Zoom Events Companion app.

  1. Scan the Zoom Event's QR code or access the event details page.
  2. On the event details page, tap Register Again.
    Other ticket options will appear.
  3. Choose the ticket you want to register for, then tap Continue.
  4. Register for the event.

How to use the group join link to register or join the Zoom Event

You can use the group join link that you receive to access and register the Zoom Event.

  1. Access the group join link in the following ways:
    • Open the email with the group join link.
    • Access the group join link from a calendar event.
    • Scan the event's QR code.
  2. After accessing the group join link, register with your email or sign in with your Zoom account to join the event on the Zoom mobile app:
    • Verify your email on the Zoom mobile app: 
      1. Open the email with the verification code.
      2. On the Zoom mobile app, enter the verification code.
      3. Register for the Zoom Event (if you're not already registered).
    • Sign in to the Zoom mobile app to join the event:
      1. Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
      2. Register for the Zoom Event (if you're not already registered).

How to complete no-authentication registration

No-authentication registration is supported on the Zoom Events Companion app. Upon joining, no-authentication attendees must complete the user information pop-up window. Chat, networking, and other features are disabled for no-authentication attendees. This feature supports QR scanning, in-app registration, and the end-to-end flow.

  1. Scan the Zoom Event's QR code or click Join Event on the event details page.
    A pop-up window will appear.
  2. In the window, enter the required information:
    • Email Address
    • First Name
    • Last Name
  3. If applicable, complete registration questions.
  4. Tap Agree and Join.
    You will join the event lobby.
