Creating and managing Zoom Event templates


Hosts have the option to remove the existing curated event templates. Hosts can create an event template based on a previous event. They can select the event components from duplication that they want to add to their template. Customized templates and Zoom Events curated event templates can be grouped together or separated. Additionally, hosts can delete their customized templates.

How to create a Zoom Event template

  1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
  2. In the left navigation menu, click the dropdown arrow and select Across Hubs.
  3. In the left navigation menu, click Events.
  4. In the top-right corner, click Create Event.
  5. On the Duplicate an event or create a template card, click Start.
    You will see your upcoming, draft, and past events.
  6. Click the Upcoming, Drafts, or Past tab.
  7. To the right of the event you want to duplicate, click Create Template.
    A panel will appear.
  8. In the panel, enter the following template information:
    • Template Name: Enter a name for the template.
      Note: There is a maximum of 50 characters.
    • Template Description: Enter a brief description about the template.
      Note: There is a maximum of 150 characters.
  9. (Optional) Under Template Image (Optional), hover your mouse over the default image and click Change Image to upload an image for the event template.
    This image will be displayed on the event details page.
    Note: The recommended image dimensions are 1920x1080 pixels. The recommended file types are JPG, JPEG, and PNG. The maximum image size is 10MB.
  10. Under Choose Template Event Elements, select the event elements you want to include in the event template. 
    You can also click the Select all Event Elements checkbox to select all event elements.
  11. Click Create Template.

This template will copy all designated settings. A shortcut will be added when creating a new event for this template.

How to access your event template

  1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
  2. In the left navigation menu, click the dropdown arrow and select Across Hubs.
  3. In the left navigation menu, click Events.
  4. In the top-right corner, click Create Event.
    On the event creation start page, your event template shortcut will appear as an option that you can use.

How to use your event template

  1. Access the event template.
  2. On the event template card you want to use, click Use Template.
  3. Complete the Event Configuration details:
    • For multiple sessions events:
      • Event Name: Enter an event name.
      • Date and Time: Select an event date and time.
        Note: A multiple sessions event's date is automatically set to 2 weeks away from the current date by default.
      • Click + Add a time to add and select multiple days and times.
      • Click the trash icon  to remove a date and time.
      • Time Zone: Use the dropdown menu to select your time zone.
    • For single-session events:
      • Event Name: Enter an event name.
      • Session Starts: Select the date and time of your event.
      • Duration: Select how long your session will last.
      • Time Zone: Use the dropdown menu to select your time zone.
    • For recurring sessions events:
      • Event Name: Enter the event name.
      • Session Starts: Select the date and time that your event will start.
      • Duration: Select how long your session will last.
      • Time Zone: Use the dropdown menu to select your time zone.
      • Recurrence: Select the recurrence to be DailyWeekly, or Monthly.
      • Repeat Every: Select the number of days, weeks, or months that the event recurrence will repeat:
        • If you selected Daily, set your event to repeat every amount of days you want. 
        • If you selected Weekly, set your event to repeat every amount of weeks you want.
          • Select the checkboxes of the weekdays that you want your event to occur.
        • If you selected Monthly, set your event to repeat every amount of months you want. Then, select how you want your monthly event to occur:
          • Select your event to occur on a certain day of the month.
          • Select your event to occur on the FirstSecondThirdFourth, or Last specified weekday of the month that you want.
      • End Date: Choose when and how to end the recurring event:
        • By On, select the date when the recurring event will end.
        • By After, enter the number of sessions that the event will end on.
  4. Click Save and Continue.
    You will be directed to the event's Overview tab.

How to delete the event template

  1. Access the event template you want to delete.
  2. On the event template card you want to use, click Delete.
    A confirmation window will appear.
  3. In the window, click Delete.
