Using the AI dashboard
Account owners and admins can view the usage of AI, Custom AI, and Agent within their account, including tracking adoption rates and identifying the most active users. These metrics are based on AI usage in meetings hosted by users on the account, as well as in group chats, channels owned by internal users, and 1:1 chats.
Admins can also use the Dashboard for Meetings and Webinars, Zoom Rooms, Chat, Whiteboard, and more. Learn how to get started with using the Zoom Dashboard.
Requirements for using the AI dashboard
- Business, Education, or API Plan
- Account owner or admin privileges
- ZoomMate licenses assigned to users in your organization, including:
- ZoomMate licenses
- Zoom Workplace Pro licenses
- Show conversational AI Companion enabled
Note: ZoomMate features may not be available for all regions or account types.
How to access the AI tab in the Dashboard
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an account owner or administrator.
- In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials, then click Admin Center.
- In the navigation menu, click Dashboard.
- At the top of the Dashboard, click the AI tab.
- The dashboard is organized into 4 tabs:
The dashboard displays multiple sections showing adoption, usage metrics, and trends.
View the adoption funnel
The adoption funnel section provides a visual representation of AI, Custom AI, and Agent adoption across your organization. This section displays three key metrics:
- Licensed users: The total number of unique licensed users on the current day.
- Active users: The total number of unique active users in the last quarter (last 90 days).
The funnel visualization helps you understand the progression from licensing to actual usage, identifying potential adoption barriers.
Filter dashboard data
The dashboard provides several filtering options to customize your view and focus on specific data segments.
Group filtering
- Click the Groups filter field.
- Select one or multiple groups from the list.
- The filter supports both primary and secondary groups.
Click the Clear filters option to reset the filters.
Department filtering
- Click the Department filter field.
- Search for or select specific departments.
Click the Clear filters option to reset the filters.
Note: Filtering options apply to all sections below the adoption funnel, including KPIs, historical trends, and the leaderboard.
Understanding the usage metrics
Account owners and admins can access comprehensive usage data for AI, Custom AI, and Agent through the AI dashboard. The dashboard presents key performance indicators and allows admins to filter data while analyzing historical trends across customizable time periods. Advanced filtering options and top user analytics offer deeper insights into feature utilization patterns.
The Key Performance Indicators (KPI) section displays the number of users who have used the given feature and the number of user interactions with that feature.
You can also filter the metrics to view them from a specific timeframe (under KPI date range), department, or group (under Global filters). To adjust the timeframe of these metrics, click the drop-down menu above this section and choose from the following options:
- Daily: View the current day’s usage metrics.
- Weekly: View the past week’s worth of usage metrics. This includes the present day and the 6 previous days.
- Monthly: View the past month’s worth of usage metrics. This includes the present day and the 27 previous days, regardless of whether the month has 30 or 31 days.
AI
The following metrics may be available, depending on which AI features are enabled on the account:
- Active Users: The number of unique users who completed at least one action with AI in the specified timeframe.
- AI chat panel active users: The number of unique users who completed at least one action with AI chat panel in the specified timeframe.
- AI chat panel queries: The number of queries initiated in AI chat panels during the specified timeframe. This includes queries typed by users as well as user clicks on AI-generated prompts.
- Meeting active users: The number of unique users who completed at least one action with AI in Meetings features (e.g., Meeting Summary, Meeting Questions) during the selected timeframe.
- Meeting summary hosts: The number of users on the account who have used the meeting summary feature in the specified timeframe.
- Meeting with summaries: The number of meetings on the account that have used the meeting summary feature in the specified timeframe. Users attending external meetings where AI features were used are not included.
- Meeting questions users: The number of users on the account that have used the in-meeting questions feature in the specified timeframe.
- Meeting with questions: The number of meetings on the account that have used the in-meeting questions feature in the specified timeframe.
- Chat active users: The number of unique users who completed at least one action with AI in Chat features (e.g. Thread summary, Compose, etc.) in the specified timeframe.
- Chat compose users: The number of users on the account that have used the Chat compose feature in the specified timeframe.
- Chat compose events: The number of Chat messages composed with the Chat compose feature on the account in the specified timeframe.
- Chat thread summary users: The number of users on the account that have used the Chat thread summary feature in the specified timeframe.
- Chat thread summaries generated: The number of thread summaries generated with the Chat thread summary feature on the account in the specified timeframe.
- Smart Recording users: The number of users on the account that have used the smart recording feature in the specified timeframe.
- Smart Recording generated: The number of smart recordings created on the account in the specified timeframe.
- Phone active users: The number of unique users who completed at least one action with AI in Phone features (e.g., call summary and voicemail prioritization) in the specified timeframe.
- Call Summary active users: The total number of unique active users who use phone summary feature during this period.
- Voicemail Prioritization active users: Total number of unique active users who use Voicemail Prioritization feature during this period.
- Voicemail Tasks active users: The total number of unique active users who use voicemail task.
- Team SMS thread summary active users: Total number of unique active users who use Team SMS thread summary.
- Calls with call summary on: Total number of calls that have call summaries during this period.
- Voicemail Prioritization generated: The total number of voicemails that have voicemail prioritization generated during this period.
- Voicemail Tasks generated: Total number of voicemails that have tasks generated.
- Team SMS thread summary generated: The total number of Team SMS thread summary generated.
- Whiteboard active users: The total number of unique active users who take any action using the AI in Whiteboard during this period.
- Whiteboard content generated: The total number of unique active users who take any action using the AI in Whiteboard during this period.
- Whiteboard content refined: Total Whiteboard content refined with AI during this period.
- Clip active users: The number of unique active users who took at least one action with AI in Clips in the specified timeframe.
- Auto-generate Clip metadata: The total number of Clips content elements (such as titles, descriptions, tags and chapters) automatically generated using AI during this period.
- Template avatars used: The number of avatars used in Clips that were selected from predefined templates during the specified timeframe.
- Custom avatars used: Number of custom avatars used in Clips during the specified timeframe.
- Custom avatars generated: The number of custom avatars created from scratch using AI in Clips during the specified timeframe.
- ZoomMate chat active users: The total number of unique active users who submit at least one query through ZoomMate chat during the specified timeframe.
- ZoomMate chat queries: The total number of queries that were initiated by users in ZoomMate chat during the specified timeframe.
- ZoomMate chat threads: The total number of conversation threads that were initiated by users in ZoomMate chat during the specified timeframe.
- Average web threads per user: The average number of conversation threads initiated per active user in ZoomMate chat during the specified timeframe.
- Average web queries per user: Average number of queries initiated per active user in ZoomMate chat during the specified timeframe.
Custom AI
The following metrics may be available, depending on which Custom AI features are enabled on the account:
- Active users: The total number of unique active users who use any Custom AI feature in the specified timeframe.
- Assisted Actions: The number of unique licensed users who completed at least one action using Custom AI.
- Queries using knowledge: The total number of user queries that were answered using custom knowledge collections created in AI Studio.
- Queries using BYOI: The total number of user queries that were answered using third-party indexing services like Amazon Q or Glean.
- Queries using 3rd-party app: Total number of user queries against third- party applications.
Agent
The following metrics may be available, depending on which Agent features are enabled on the account:
- Active users: The total number of unique active users who submit at least one query through the agent during the specified timeframe.
- Total queries: Total count of user-initiated queries submitted through the agent during the specified timeframe.
- Total threads: The total count of user-initiated conversation threads started in the agent on the web during the specified timeframe.
- Total custom agents: The total number of custom agents created by users within the agent during the specified timeframe.
- Average queries per user: The average number of queries initiated per active user in the agent during the specified timeframe.
- Average threads per user: The average number of conversation threads initiated per active user through the agent during the specified timeframe.
ROI
The ROI productivity metrics displayed in this dashboard are estimates calculated based on available account data and the current calculation settings. These calculations can use either the default values based on industry benchmarks or custom configured values. Actual results may vary significantly depending on your organization's implementation. - Total minutes saved: Represents the total estimated savings provided by Meeting Summary. This value is calculated by multiplying the number of meeting minutes by the host and participant savings factors.
- Host minutes saved: Represents the total estimated savings for meeting hosts provided by Meeting Summary. This value is calculated by multiplying the number of meeting minutes by the host savings factor.
- Particpant minutes saved: Represents the total estimated savings for meeting participants generated by Meeting Summary in meetings where the summary was shared with participants. The calculation multiplies the number of meeting minutes by the participant savings factor and by the number of participants, excluding the host.
- Unrealized host minutes: Represents the potential savings that could have been generated by Zoom AI if the host had created a meeting summary. This value is calculated by multiplying the total meeting minutes by the host savings factor.
- Unrealized participant minutes: Represents the potential savings that could have been generated by Zoom AI if the host had created and shared a meeting summary with participants. The value is calculated by multiplying the total meeting minutes by the number of participants (excluding the host) and the participant savings factor.
- Average number of views per shared meeting summary: The average number of times a meeting summary was viewed.
Understanding the usage and engagement trends
The next section of the dashboard provides similar information, but in a graph format to show trends over time. Admins can:
- Choose a time range to view metrics for that period.
Note: This time range also affects the Top 10 users section below. - Click color-coordinated metrics to add or remove their data from the graph.
- Hover over plot points to view exact details for that date.
- Export as a CSV or JPEG file by clicking the download icon
in the top-right corner of a usage chart.

Understanding the top 10 users by engagement
Admins can view the top 10 users in their account who make the most use of AI features. The displayed data is affected by the selected time range above. By default, the overall top 10 users by usage are shown, but this view can be further filtered by usage, features, or queries.
